코가손 (Kogason) - Beat Generation



신인 프로듀서 코가손(Kogason)이 11월 26일 첫 EP 앨범 [Beat Generation]을 발매하였다. 샘플링에 기반한 힙합/브레이크/훵크/재즈 등 다양한 장르를 선보인다. 이 앨범 [Beat Generation]은 총 9트랙으로 구성 되었으며, 그간 21세기를 살아가는 그가 그리던 비트족, 비트 세대(기성세대의 질서를 거부하고 자유를 주장하며 현대적인 재즈를 좋아했던 세대)라는 내용으로 전체적인 코가손의 정서가 담긴 instrumental로 전개하였다.



한국힙합의 베테랑 MC ‘02.Bed Peace’의 ‘수다쟁이’와, ‘03.Toast’의 ‘라임어택’, 그리고 ‘06.Here I Stay’의 ‘파로’의 피쳐링 참여로 [Beat Generation]에 관한 이야기를 담았고, 전천후 프로듀서 김박첼라의 베이스 참여로 흑인음악의 감성이 더해졌다.



한때 소수 매니아들의 전유물이라 느껴지던 힙합이라는 장르가 예전과 달리 어느덧 주류음악이 되어 각종 매체 노출이 잦은 이 시대에, 화려하고 빼곡한 하이햇 테크닉과 기계적인 킥과 스네어, 그리고 현란한 퍼포먼스 만이 힙합의 전부가 아니라고 말하고 싶은 그는 이 앨범을 시작으로 더 다양한 음악을 자기만의 방식으로 펼쳐나갈 예정이라 밝혔다.
